Muslim narrated it in the Book of Menstruation (34/315) from Hasan bin Ali Hulwani, who said, Abu Tuba - that is, Rabi bin Nafi - narrated to us, who said, Muawiya - meaning Ibn Salam - narrated to us, from Zayd - meaning his brother - that he heard Abu Salam say, Abu Asma Rahbi narrated to me, that Thawban, the freed servant of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, said, and he mentioned it in a long hadith.On this topic there is also what was narrated from Abu Darda, who said, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The poor of my nation will enter Paradise before the rich among them by forty autumns," or "forty years." Abu Yaala narrated it in his Mujam (63) from Muhammad bin Jami bin Kamil, a trustworthy sheikh, who said, Ibrahim bin Musa Zayyat narrated to us, from Mughira bin Ziyad, from Ismail bin Ubaydullah, from Umm Darda, from Abu Darda, who mentioned it. Ibrahim bin Musa Zayyat was mentioned by Ibn Hibban in Thiqat, where he said, "He makes mistakes," and no one else whose verification can be relied upon confirmed his reliability, so he is counted among the unknown narrators. His teacher, Mughira bin Ziyad, is disputed, and the prevailing view is that he is daif.On this topic there is also what was narrated from Anas bin Malik, that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "O Allah, let me live as a poor man, let me die as a poor man, and gather me in the company of the poor on the Day of Resurrection." Ayesha said, "Why, O Messenger of Allah?" He said, "They will enter Paradise before the rich among them by forty autumns, O Ayesha. Do not turn away the poor even if with only half a date. O Ayesha, love the poor and draw them near, for Allah will draw you near on the Day of Resurrection." Tirmidhi narrated it (2352), and Bayhaqi in Sunan al-Kubra (7/12), both through the route of Thabit bin Muhammad Abid Kufi, who said, Harith bin Numan Laythi narrated to us, from Anas, who mentioned it. Tirmidhi said, "This is a rare hadith." And it is as he said, for Harith bin Numan was declared daif by Abu Zura, Abu Hatim, and Nasai, and Bukhari said, "His hadith is rejected."On this topic there is also what was narrated from Jabir bin Abdullah, that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The poor among the Muslims will enter Paradise before the rich among them by forty autumns." Tirmidhi narrated it (2355), and Ahmad (14476), both through the route of Abdullah bin Yazid Muqri, who said, Saeed bin Abu Ayub narrated to us, from Amr bin Jabir Hadrami, from Jabir bin Abdullah, who mentioned it. Amr bin Jabir Hadrami, who is Abu Zura Misri, is daif in his hadith, and there was criticism of his religion and beliefs. He believed that Ali was in the clouds. Ahmad said, "He narrated rejected hadiths from Jabir," yet Tirmidhi graded it hasan.On this topic there is also what was narrated from Ibn Umar, who said, the poor among the migrants complained to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about the favor Allah had given the rich over them, so he said, "O assembly of the poor, shall I not give you glad tidings that the poor among the believers will enter Paradise before the rich among them by half a day, which is five hundred years?" Then Musa recited this verse, "And indeed, a day with your Lord is like a thousand years of those which you count." [Hajj 22:47]. Ibn Abu Shayba narrated it (35528), and Ibn Majah (4124), both through routes from Musa bin Ubayda, from Abdullah bin Dinar, from Abdullah bin Umar, who mentioned it. Musa bin Ubayda is Rabadhi, declared daif by Ahmad, Ibn Main, Abu Hatim, and others, and he narrates rejected hadiths from Abdullah bin Dinar, as Ahmad and Ibn Main said. I say, this is one of his narrations from Abdullah bin Dinar.
