Dulabi narrated it in al-Kuna (1264), and Bazzar (2780), both through routes from Habban bin Hilal, who said, Mubarak bin Fadala narrated to us, who said, Kathir Abu Muhammad narrated to me, who said, Abu Tufayl narrated to me, and then he related it. The wording given here is that of Dulabi, and some of Bazzar's wordings contain an irregularity.Its chain is hasan because of Kathir Abu Muhammad Basri, from whom Hammad bin Salama and Mubarak bin Fadala both narrated. Ibn Hibban mentioned him among the reliable narrators, and he belongs to the generation of the Tabiin. There is no irregularity in his hadith, rather he has sahih foundational narrations, so a narrator like him is graded hasan, and this hadith is one of his narrations.His statement, "They will enter Paradise in chains," has two possible meanings.First, the disbelievers who were captured and bound in chains, then embraced Islam, will enter Paradise still bearing their chains.Second, the Muslims who were bound in chains in the prisons of the disbelievers and died there will enter Paradise bearing their chains.
