The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever wishes that Allah give him wine to drink in the Hereafter, let him abstain from it in this world. Whoever wishes that Allah clothe him in silk in the Hereafter, let him leave it in this world. The rivers of Paradise gush forth from beneath hills, or from beneath mountains, of musk. If the lowest of the people of Paradise were given ornaments equal to all the ornaments of the people of this world combined, what Allah
adorns him with in the Hereafter would still surpass all the ornaments of the people of this world."
Bayhaqi reported it in Bath wan-Nushur (266) from Abu Abdullah Hafiz and Muhammad bin Musa bin Fadl, who both said, Abu Abbas Muhammad bin Yaqub narrated to us, Rabi bin Sulayman narrated to us, Assad bin Musa narrated to us, Ibn Thawban (that is, Abdul-Rahman bin Thabit bin Thawban) narrated to us, from Ataa bin Qurrah, from Abdullah bin Damrah, from Abu Hurairah, and he mentioned it.Its chain is hasan, for Assad bin Musa, Ibn Thawban, and Ibn Qurrah are all hasan al-hadith. Tabarani also reported it in Al-Awsat, Majma al-Bahrayn (4909), from Miqdam bin Dawud, from Assad bin Musa, with this chain, but limited to the part about jewelry.Haythami said in Majma (10/401), "Tabarani reported it in Al-Awsat from his shaykh Miqdam bin Dawud, who is daif, though he has been graded thiqah, and the rest of its men are thiqah."I say, Miqdam is daif, but he is corroborated by Rabi bin Sulayman in Bayhaqi's version, and he is thiqah.
