Utba bin Abdul-Sulami reported,

A bedouin came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and asked, "What is this pond of yours that you speak of?"He replied, "It is as vast as the distance between Bayda and Busra. Allah will supply it for me with vessels, no one of His creation can tell where its two ends are."Umar bin Khattab exclaimed, "Allahu Akbar!" Then he said, "As for the pond, the poor among the Emigrants who fight in the path of Allah and die in the path of Allah will come to drink from it. I hope that Allah will grant me one of those vessels so that I may drink from it."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "My Lord has promised me that He will admit seventy thousand of my nation into Paradise without reckoning. Then each thousand will intercede for another seventy thousand. Then my Lord will scoop up three handfuls with His palms."Umar exclaimed "Allahu Akbar!" and said, "As for the first seventy thousand, Allah will accept their intercession for their fathers, sons, and clansmen. I hope that Allah will place me among one of the later handfuls."The bedouin asked, "Messenger of Allah, is there fruit in it?"He replied, "Yes, and in it there is a tree called Tuba which spans the Firdaws."The bedouin asked, "Which tree of our land does it resemble?"He answered, "It does not resemble any tree of your land. But have you ever been to Sham?"The bedouin said, "No, Messenger of Allah."He said, "It resembles a tree in Sham called the walnut tree. It grows from a single trunk, then its upper branches spread out."The bedouin asked, "How great is its trunk?"He replied, "If a young she-camel from your family's herd were to set off, it would not traverse it before its collarbone broke from old age."The bedouin asked, "Are there grapes in it?"He answered, "Yes."He asked, "How great is one of its bunches?"He replied, "A journey of a month for a black-and-white crow flying without turning aside or tiring."He asked, "How great is a single grape?"He responded, "Has your father ever slaughtered a great billy-goat from his flock?"The bedouin said, "Yes."He continued, "And he skinned it and gave the hide to your mother, saying, 'Tan this, then cut us a large bucket from it so we may water our livestock'?"The bedouin said, "Yes."He said, "That single grape would be enough to satisfy me and my household."The Prophet ﷺ added, "And the bulk of your clan as well."

عن عتبة بن عبد السلمي قال

جاء أعرابي إلى رسول الله ﷺ، فقال: ما حوضك الذي تحدث عنه؟ قال: كما بين البيضاء إلى بصرى، يمدني الله فيه بكراع لا يدري إنسان ممن خلق أين طرفاه، فكبر عمر بن الخطاب، فقال: أما الحوض فيرد عليه فقراء المهاجرين الذين يقاتلون في سبيل الله، ويموتون في سبيل الله. فأرجو أن يورثني الكراع فأشرب منه. وقال رسول الله ﷺ: إن ربي وعدني أن يدخل الجنة من أمتي سبعين ألفا بغير حساب، ثم يشفع كل ألف بسبعين ألف، ثم يحثي ربي تبارك وتعالى بكفيه ثلاث حثيات. فكبر عمر وقال: إن السبعين الأولى ليشفعهم الله في آبائهم وأبنائهم وعشائرهم. وأرجو أن يجعلني الله في إحدى الحثيات الأواخر. فقال الأعرابي: يا رسول الله فيها فاكهة؟ قال: نعم وفيها شجرة تدعى طوبى هي تطابق الفردوس. فقال: أي شجر أرضنا تشبه؟ قال: ليس تشبه من شجر أرضك، ولكن أتيت الشام؟ قال: لا يا رسول الله، قال: فإنها تشبه شجرة في الشام تدعى الجوزة تنبت على ساق واحد، ثم ينتشرأعلاها. قال: فما عظم أصلها؟ قال: لو ارتحلت جذعة من إبل أهلك لما قطعتها حتى تنكسر ترقوتها هرما. قال: فيها عنب؟ قال: نعم. قال: ما عظم العنقود منها؟ قال: مسيرة شهر للغراب الأبقع لا ينثني ولا يفتر. قال: فما عظم الحبة منه؟ قال: هل ذبح أبوك من غنمه تيسا عظيما؟ قال: نعم. قال: فسلخ إهابها فأعطاه أمك، فقال ادبغي هذا ثم افري لنا منه ذنوبا نروي به ماشيتنا. قال: نعم. قال: فإن تلك الحبة تشبعني وأهل بيتي فقال النبي ﷺ: وعامة عشيرتك.
