I was sitting with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ when an Arabi came and said, "Messenger of Allah, I hear you mention a tree in Paradise, but I know of no tree in this world with more thorns than it," meaning the talh tree.The Messenger of Allah ﷺ replied, "In place of every thorn, Allah will put something like the testicle of a castrated billy goat, containing seventy colors of food, no color resembling the other."
كنت جالسا مع رسول الله ﷺ فجاء أعرابي، فقال: يا رسول الله، أسمعك تذكر شجرة في الجنة لا أعلم في الدنيا أكثر شوكا منها- يعني الطلح-، فقال رسول الله ﷺ: يجعل مكان كل شوكة مثل خصوة التيس الملبود- يعني الخصي-، فيها سبعون لونا من الطعام لا يشبه لون الآخر.
Tabarani reported it in Al-Kabir (17/130), and in Musnad Shamiyin (492), and from his route Abu Naeem reported it in Al-Hilya (6/103) and in Sifat al-Jannah (347), from Abu Zura Abdul-Rahman bin Amr Dimashqi, who said, Abu Mishar and Muhammad bin Mubarak Suri narrated to us, they said, Yahya bin Hamza narrated to us, Thawr bin Yazid narrated to me, from Habib bin Ubayd, from Utba bin Abdul-Sulami, who said, and then he related it. Its isnad is sahih.Haythami said in Al-Majma (10/414), "Tabarani reported it, and its narrators are the narrators of the sahih."
