I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ mention the Lote Tree of the Utmost Boundary. He said, "A rider could travel in the shade of one of its branches for a hundred years," or he said, "a hundred riders could take shelter in its shade." Yahya was uncertain which wording was used. "In it are golden butterflies, and its fruits are like large water jars."
سمعت رسول الله ﷺ، وذكر سدرة المنتهى، قال: يسير الراكب في ظل الفنن منها مائة سنة، أو يستظل بظلها مائة راكب- شك يحيى- فيها فراش الذهب كأن ثمرها القلال.
Tirmidhi (2541), Hannad bin Sari in Zuhd (115), Ibn Jareer in his Tafsir (22/38–39), and Hakim (2/469) all narrated it through Yunus bin Bukayr, who said, Muhammad bin Ishaq narrated to us, from Yahya bin Abbad bin Abdullah bin Zubayr, from his father, from Asma bint Abu Bakr, who said, and then she mentioned it.Its chain of transmission is hasan because of Muhammad bin Ishaq, since he explicitly stated that he heard it directly, as shown in Hannad's version. Tirmidhi said, "This is a hasan sahih gharib hadith," and in one copy, "hasan gharib." Hakim said, "This is a sahih hadith according to the criterion of Muslim."
