The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Certain people will come to me at the Pool, then they will be pulled away from me. I will say, 'My Lord, my companions! My Lord, my companions!' But it will be said to me, 'You do not know what they introduced after you.'"
أن رسول الله ﷺ قال: ليردن علي الحوض أقوام فيختلجون دوني فأقول: رب أصيحابي، رب أصيحابي، فيقال لي: إنك لا تدري ما أحدثوا بعدك.
Muslim narrated it in al-Fadail (2.297) and Ahmad (23290) through various routes from Husayn, from Abu Waail, from Huzaifa, and he related it. The wording given is that of Ahmad, for Muslim did not state his own wording but simply referred back to the hadith preceding it.Bukhari mentioned it in al-Riqaq, following (6576), as a suspended report, saying, "Husayn said, from Abu Waail, from Huzaifa," and he related it.
