He reported that he was sitting with Abdullah bin Umar during the time of civil strife when a freedwoman of his came to greet him. She said, "I want to leave, Abu Abdul-Rahman. Times have grown hard for us."Abdullah said to her, "Sit down, foolish woman. I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'No one endures its hardship and difficulty without my being a witness or intercessor for them on the Day of Resurrection.'"
أنه أخبره أنه كان جالسا عند عبد الله بن عمر في الفتنة، فأتته مولاة له تسلم عليه، فقالت: إني أريد الخروج، يا أبا عبد الرحمن، اشتد علينا الزمان، فقال لها عبد الله: اقعدي لكاع، فإني سمعت رسول الله ﷺ، يقول: لا يصبر على لأوائها وشدتها أحد، إلا كنت له شهيدا أو شفيعا يوم القيامة.
Malik narrated it in Jami (3) from Qatan bin Wahb bin Umayr bin Ajda, from Yuhanis, freedman of Zubayr, who related it.Muslim narrated it in the Hajj (1377: 482) through the route of Malik, likewise.
