The Prophet ﷺ said, "People will be brought out of the Fire through intercession, as though they were thaarir."I asked, "What are thaarir?"He replied, "Daghabis," meaning small wild cucumbers. His mouth had become toothless by then.I said to Amr bin Dinar, "Abu Muhammad, did you hear Jabir bin Abdullah say, 'I heard the Prophet ﷺ say, People will be brought out of the Fire through intercession'?"He answered, "Yes."
Bukhari related it in the Chapter on Softening of Hearts (6558), and Muslim in the Book of Faith (318:191), both of them from Hammad bin Zayd, from Amr bin Dinar, from Jabir, who related the same, and the wording is Bukhari's. Muslim's version does not contain, "as though they were thaarir," nor its explanation. "Dhaghabis" are small cucumbers, the singular of which is dhaghbus, though others have said otherwise.
