A landslide that occurred east of Madinah was mentioned in the time of the Prophet ﷺ, and some people asked, "Messenger of Allah, will a land be swallowed up while Muslims are living in it?"He replied, "Yes, when most of its inhabitants are wicked."
ذكر في زمان النبي خسف قبل المشرق فقال بعض الناس: يا رسول الله، يخسف بأرض فيها المسلمون؟ فقال: نعم، إذا كان أكثر أهلها الخبث.

Reported by Tabarani in al-Saghir (1/82), and al-Awsat (1862), and Dani in al-Fitan (342), both through the route of Muhammad bin Ishaq al-Musaybi, who said, Anas bin Iyad narrated to us, from Yahya bin Saeed al-Ansari, from Anas bin Malik, who said, and then he mentioned it. Tabarani said, "This hadith was not narrated from Yahya bin Saeed except by Anas, and al-Musaybi narrated it alone." I say, al-Musaybi's being alone in narrating it does not harm it, for he is truthful (saduq), and because of him the hadith is hasan, and the rest of the men in the chain are trustworthy. Haythami said in al-Majmu (2697), "Its men are the men of the Sahih."
