Abu Hurairah reported,

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Yajuj and Majuj dig at the barrier every day, until, when they are about to see the rays of the sun, the one in charge of them says, 'Go back, you will dig through it tomorrow.' So they return to it, and it has become as strong as it was before. When their appointed time comes and Allah wills to release them upon mankind, they will dig until they are about to see the rays of the sun, and the one in charge of them will say, 'Go back, you will dig through it tomorrow, if Allah wills,' making the exception. They will return to it and find it just as they left it, so they will dig through it and come out upon the people. They will dry up the waters, and the people will fortify themselves against them in their strongholds. They will shoot their arrows toward the sky, and the arrows will return with what looks like blood on them. They will say, 'We have conquered the people of the earth and overcome the people of the heavens.' Then Allah will send against them a worm in the napes of their necks that will kill them."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then said, "By the One in whose hand is the soul of Muhammad, the beasts of the earth will grow fat in gratitude from feeding on their flesh and blood."

عن أبي هريرة

عن رسول الله ﷺ قال: إن يأجوج ومأجوج ليحفرون السد كل يوم، حتى إذا كادوا يرون شعاع الشمس، قال الذي عليهم: ارجعوا فستحفرونه غدا، فيعودون إليه كأشد ما كان، حتى إذا بلغت مدتهم، وأراد الله عز وجل أن يبعثهم إلى الناس، حفروا حتى إذا كادوا يرون شعاع الشمس، قال الذي عليهم: ارجعوا فستحفرونه غدا إن شاء الله، ويستثني، فيعودون إليه وهو كهيئته حين تركوه، فيحفرونه، ويخرجون على الناس، فينشفون المياه، ويتحصن الناس منهم في حصونهم، فيرمون بسهامهم إلى السماء، فترجع وعليها كهيئة الدم، فيقولون: قهرنا أهل الأرض، وعلونا أهل السماء، فيبعث الله عليهم نغفا في أقفائهم فيقتلهم بها، فقال رسول الله ﷺ: والذي نفس محمد بيده إن دواب الأرض لتسمن شكرا من لحومهم ودمائهم.
