Muslim narrated it in "Fitan" (2941:118) from Abu Bakr bin Abu Shayba, who said, Muhammad bin Bishr narrated to us, from Abu Hayan, from Abu Zura, from Abdullah bin Amr, and he mentioned it.He also narrated it from Muhammad bin Abdullah bin Numayr, who said, my father narrated to us, Abu Hayan narrated to us, from Abu Zura, who said, three men from among the Muslims sat with Marwan bin Hakam in Madinah, and they heard him speaking about the signs, saying that the first of them to appear would be Dajjal. Abdullah bin Amr said, "Marwan has said nothing. I have memorized a hadith from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ that I have not forgotten since. I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say," and he mentioned the same as before.Ahmad narrated it (6881) from Ismail bin Ibrahim, meaning Ibn Ulaya, from Abu Hayan with the same wording, and he added that Abdullah, who used to read the scriptures, said, "I think the first of them to appear will be the rising of the sun from its place of setting. This is because every time it sets, it goes beneath the Throne, prostrates, and asks permission to return, and it is given permission to return, until when Allah decides that it should rise from its place of setting, it will do as it used to do. It will go beneath the Throne and prostrate and ask permission to return, but nothing will be said to it in reply. Then it will ask permission to return, and nothing will be said to it in reply. Then it will ask permission, and nothing will be said to it in reply, until when as much of the night has passed as Allah wills, and it knows that if it were given permission to return it would not reach the east in time, it will say, 'Lord, how far is the east! Who will care for the people?' Until when the horizon becomes like a ring, it will ask permission to return, and it will be said to it, 'Rise from where you are.' So it will rise upon the people from its place of setting."Then Abdullah recited this verse, "On the day when some of the signs of your Lord come, no soul will benefit from its faith if it had not believed before, or had not earned some good through its faith" [Anam 6:158]Abu Dawud narrated it (4310) through the route of Ismail, who is Ibn Ulaya, from Abu Hayan with the same chain and wording, but he limited it to Abdullah's statement, who used to read the scriptures, "I think the first of the two to appear will be the rising of the sun from its place of setting."His statement, "The first of the signs to appear will be the rising of the sun from its place of setting," means that it is the first of the signs in terms of the disturbance that will occur in planet Earth and the heavens, and in the stars and planets within them, and the disruption of their order. Otherwise, the emergence of Dajjal, the descent of Isa , the emergence of the Beast, and the other signs will occur before the rising of the sun from its place of setting. And Allah knows best what is correct.
