The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever hears of the Dajjal, let him keep far away from him. By Allah, a man will come to him thinking himself a believer, yet will end up following him because of the doubts he stirs up," or "because of the doubts he stirs up."In another narration, "Whoever hears of the Dajjal, let him keep far away from him," repeating it three times.
قال رسول الله ﷺ: من سمع بالدجال فلينأ عنه، فوالله إن الرجل ليأتيه وهو يحسب أنه مؤمن فيتبعه مما يبعث به من الشبهات- أو لما يبعث به من الشبهات. وفي رواية: من سمع بالدجال فلينأ عنهثلاثا يقولها.
Abu Dawud (4319) and Ahmad (19875, 19968) narrated it, and Hakim graded it sahih (4/531), all of them through the route of Humayd bin Hilal, from Abu Dahma, who said, "I heard Imran bin Husayn say," and then he related it. The wording given is that of Abu Dawud, and the addition is found in Ahmad and Hakim. Its chain of transmission is sahih. Hakim said, "Sahih according to the criterion of Muslim."
