The Prophet ﷺ said, "The righteous will pass away one after another, and there will remain only worthless remnants like the husks of barley or dates, to whom Allah will give no regard."
قال النبي ﷺ: يذهب الصالحون الأول فالأول، ويبقى حفالة كحفالة الشعير أو التمر لا يباليهم الله بالة.
Bukhari related it in the Book of Softening of Hearts (6434), from Yahya bin Hammad, who said, Abu Awana related to us, from Bayan (he is Ibn Bishr), from Qays bin Abu Hazim, from Mirdas Aslami, who said, and then he mentioned it.His saying "hifalah" is like "huthalah" with a thaa, meaning the lowest sort of people, like defective and discarded dates.
