I was with Maslama bin Muqlid, and Abdullah bin Amr bin As was with him.Abdullah said, "The Hour will not arrive except upon the worst of creation. They will be worse than the people of the pre-Islamic era. They will not call upon Allah for anything except that He will reject their supplication."While they were in that conversation, Uqba bin Amir arrived.Maslama said to him, "Uqba, listen to what Abdullah is saying."Uqba replied, "He knows best. As for me, I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'A group from my nation will continue to fight for the cause of Allah, prevailing over their enemies. Those who oppose them will not harm them until the Hour comes upon them while they remain in that state.'"Abdullah said, "Indeed. Then Allah will send a wind like the fragrance of musk, its touch like the touch of silk, and it will not leave a single soul with even a grain's weight of faith in his heart without taking it. Then the worst of people will remain, and upon them the Hour will come."
Muslim narrated it in the book of Leadership (1924), from Ahmad bin Abdul-Rahman bin Wahb, who said, my uncle Abdullah bin Wahb narrated to us, Amr bin Harith narrated to us, Yazid bin Abu Habib narrated to me, Abdul-Rahman bin Sahammasa Mahri narrated to me, he said, and he mentioned it.
