I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying from the pulpit, "When you hear of an army that has been swallowed up by the earth nearby, then the Hour has cast its shadow."
سمعت رسول الله ﷺ على المنبر وهو يقول: إذا سمعتم بجيش قد خسف به قريبا فقد أظلت الساعة.
Narrated by Humaydi (351) and Ahmad (27129), both from Sufyan bin Uyayna, who said, Muhammad bin Ishaq told us that he heard Muhammad bin Ibrahim Taymi narrating from Buqayra, the wife of Qaqa bin Abu Hadrad Aslami, and he related it.Its chain is hasan because of Muhammad bin Ishaq, for his narration is hasan when he explicitly states that he heard directly, and he did state this explicitly, as found in the version of Humaydi.Sufyan bin Uyayna was contradicted in his chain, for Salama bin Fadl narrated it, saying, Muhammad bin Ishaq narrated to me, from Muhammad bin Amr bin Ata, from Buqayra, in a similar manner. This was recorded by Ahmad (27130).The correct view is that of Sufyan, for he is a trustworthy, firmly reliable imam.
