Mustawrid al-Qurashi said in the presence of Amr bin As, "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'The Hour will come when the Romans are the most numerous of people.'"Amr said to him, "Be careful what you are saying."He replied, "I am saying what I heard from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ."Amr said, "If you say that, then indeed they possess four qualities. They are the most forbearing of people in times of trial, the quickest to recover after a calamity, the swiftest to return to the attack after a retreat, and the best of people toward the poor, the orphan, and the weak. And a fifth quality, fine and beautiful, they are the most resistant to the oppression of kings."
Muslim narrated it in the Book of Tribulations and Signs of the Hour (2898), from Abdul-Malik bin Shuayb bin Layth, who said, Abdullah bin Wahb told me, who said, Layth bin Saad informed me, who said, Musa bin Ali told me, from his father, who said, then he mentioned it.
