The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The Hour will not come until you fight the Turks, a people with small eyes, red faces, and flat noses, their faces resembling hammered shields. And the Hour will not come until you fight a people whose sandals are made of hair."In another wording, "The Hour will not come until the Muslims fight the Turks, a people whose faces are like hammered shields, who wear hair and walk in hair."
قال رسول الله ﷺ: لا تقوم الساعة حتى تقاتلوا الترك، صغار الأعين، حمر الوجوه، ذلف الأنوف، كأن وجوههم المجان المطرقة، ولا تقوم الساعة حتى تقاتلوا قوما نعالهم الشعر. وفي لفظ: لا تقوم الساعة حتى يقاتل المسلمون الترك قوما وجوههم كالمجان المطرقة يلبسون الشعر ويمشون في الشعر.
Bukhari related it in the Book of Jihad and Expeditions (2928), and Muslim in the Book of Tribulations and Signs of the Hour (2912:64), both by way of Araj (that is, Abdul-Rahman bin Hurmuz), from Abu Hurairah, and he mentioned it. The wording given here is Bukhari's.Muslim also related it (2912:65) by way of Suhayl, from his father, from Abu Hurairah, with the second wording.Bukhari related it in the Book of Merits (3591), and Muslim (1912:66), both by way of Ismail bin Abu Khalid, from Qays bin Abu Hazim, from Abu Hurairah, with similar wording. Bukhari added, "And he is this prominent one," and Sufyan once said, "And they are the people of Bazar."
