The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The Hour will not come until the land of the Arabs returns to being meadows and rivers, until a rider can travel between Iraq and Mecca fearing nothing but losing his way, and until al-harj becomes widespread."They asked, "What is al-harj, Messenger of Allah?"He replied, "Killing."
قال رسول الله ﷺ: لا تقوم الساعة حتى تعود أرض العرب مروجا وأنهارا، وحتى يسير الراكب بين العراق ومكة، لا يخاف إلا ضلال الطريق، وحتى يكثر الهرج، قالوا: وما الهرج يا رسول الله؟ قال: القتل.
Ahmad (8833) narrated it from Muhammad bin Sabbah (that is, Dulabi), who said, Ismail (meaning Ibn Zakariya) told us, from Suhayl, from his father, from Abu Hurairah, who related it.The first half of the hadith is found in Muslim, in the Book of zakat (157:60), from Qutayba bin Saeed, from Yaqub (that is, Ibn Abdul-Rahman), from Suhayl, from his father, from Abu Hurairah.Ibn Hibban (6700) also narrated it through another route from Qutayba bin Saeed, with the wording, "The Hour will not come until turmoil becomes widespread, and until the land of the Arabs once again becomes meadows and rivers."
