I came to the Prophet ﷺ during the expedition of Tabuk while he was in a tent made of leather. He said, "Count six things before the Hour. My death, then the conquest of Jerusalem, then a plague that will strike you like the murrain of sheep..." and he continued the hadith.
أتيت النبي ﷺ في غزوة تبوك وهو في قبة من أدم فقال: اعدد ستا بين يدي الساعة: موتي، ثم فتح بيت المقدس، ثم موتان يأخذ فيكم كقعاص الغنم… لحديث.
Bukhari related it in the Book of Jizya and Truces (3176) from Humaydi, who said, Walid bin Muslim told us, Abdullah bin Ala bin Zabr told us, he said, I heard Busr bin Ubaydullah, that he heard Abu Idris say, I heard Awf bin Malik, and then he related it.His saying, "mawtan," means widespread death. And his saying, "like the quas of sheep," refers to a disease that afflicts livestock, causing something to flow from their noses, and they die suddenly. It is said that this sign appeared during the plague of Amwas in the caliphate of Umar, in which a great many people died, including companions and others.
