When the Prophet ﷺ returned from Tabuk, the people asked him about the Hour. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ replied, "A hundred years will not pass while there remains on the earth a single soul alive today."
لما رجع النبي ﷺ من تبوك، سألوه عن الساعة، فقال رسول الله ﷺ: لا تأتي مائة سنة وعلى الأرض نفس منفوسة اليوم.
Muslim narrated it in the Book of the Virtues of the Companions (2539) via Dawud, from Abu Nadra, from Abu Saeed, who related it.The Prophet's ﷺ answer conveys what benefits the questioner. As for his question about the Hour, its answer is implied, namely that knowledge of it rests with Allah, as stated in other hadiths. This contains strong explicit support for the position held by the majority of hadith scholars, jurists, and specialists in legal theory that Khidr has died, contrary to those who claim that Khidr is alive, that they meet him, and that they receive special knowledge from him.
