I was sitting with Abu Hurairah in the Prophet's ﷺ mosque in Madinah, and Marwan was with us. Abu Hurairah said, "I heard the Truthful and Trusted One say, 'The destruction of my nation will come at the hands of young boys from Quraysh.'"Marwan exclaimed, "May Allah's curse be upon them, those boys!"Abu Hurairah said, "If I wished to name them, the sons of so-and-so and the sons of so-and-so, I would do so."I used to go out with my grandfather to visit the descendants of Marwan when they came to power in Syria. Whenever he saw their young boys, he would say to us, "Perhaps these will be among them."We would reply, "You know best."
كنت جالسا مع أبي هريرة في مسجد النبي ﷺ بالمدينة، ومعنا مروان، قال أبو هريرة: سمعت الصادق المصدوق يقول: هلكة أمتي على يدي غلمة من قريش، فقال مروان: لعنة الله عليهم غلمة، فقال أبو هريرة: لو شئت أن أقول بني فلان وبني فلان لفعلت، فكنت أخرج مع جدي إلى بني مروان حين ملكوا بالشام، فإذا رآهم غلمانا أحداثا، قال لنا: عسى هؤلاء أن يكونوا منهم، قلنا: أنت أعلم.
