The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "People from my nation will recite the Quran, yet they will pass through Islam just as an arrow passes through its target."
قال رسول الله ﷺ: ليقرأن القرآن ناس من أمتي، يمرقون من الإسلام كما يمرق السهم من الرمية.
Ibn Majah (171) and Ahmad (2312) both narrated it through Abu Ahwas, from Simak, from Ikrima, from Ibn Abbas, who mentioned it. Its chain of transmission is hasan because of Simak (he is Ibn Harb), and although there has been criticism of his narration from Ikrima specifically, Daraqutni stated definitively that what Shubah, Thawri, and Abu Ahwas narrated from him is sound.
