The Messenger of Allah ﷺ, while Ammar was digging the trench, began to wipe his head and said, "Alas for the son of Sumayy! A rebellious faction will kill you."
أن رسول الله ﷺ قال لعمار حين جعل يحفر الخندق وجعل يمسح رأسه ويقول: بؤس ابن سمية تقتلك فئة باغية.
Muslim narrated it in the Book of Tribulations and Signs of the Hour (2915) through various routes from Muhammad bin Jafar, who said, Shuba told us, from Abu Maslama, who said, I heard Abu Nadra narrating from Abu Saeed Khudri, who said, Someone better than me told me this, meaning Abu Qatada, and he mentioned it.
