Ibn Abbas said to him and to Ali bin Abdullah, "Go to Abu Saeed and listen to his hadith."So we went to him, and he was with his brother in a garden of theirs, watering it. When he saw us, he came over, wrapped himself in his garment, and sat down. He said, "We were carrying the bricks of the mosque one by one, while Ammar was carrying them two at a time. The Prophet ﷺ passed by him, wiped the dust from his head, and said, 'Alas for Ammar! A rebellious group will kill him. Ammar will be calling them to Allah, while they will be calling him to the Fire.'"
أن ابن عباس قال له ولعلي بن عبد الله: انتيا أبا سعيد، فاسمعا من حديثه، فأتيناه وهو وأخوه في حائط لهما يسقيانه، فلما رآنا جاء فاحتبى وجلس، فقال: كنا ننقل لبن المسجد لبنة لبنة، وكان عمار ينقل لبنتين لبنتين، فمر به النبي ﷺ، ومسح عن رأسه الغبار وقال: ويح عمار، تقتله الفئة الباغية، عمار يدعوهم إلى الله، ويدعونه إلى النار.
