The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Once the sword is placed among my nation, it will not be lifted from them until the Day of Resurrection."
قال رسول الله ﷺ: إذا وضع السيف في أمتي لم يرفع عنها إلى يوم القيامة.
Narrated by Abu Dawud (4252), Tirmidhi (2202), and Ibn Majah (3952), and Ibn Hibban graded it sahih (7238), all of them through Abu Qilaba, from Abu Asma, from Thawban, mentioning it in the course of a long hadith, except that Tirmidhi restricted himself at this point to the wording mentioned. He said, "This is a sahih hadith."
