He reported from his father, from the Prophet ﷺ, "When the wife of any of you asks permission to go to the mosque, he should not prevent her."In another narration, Bilal bin Abdullah said, "By Allah, we will certainly prevent them."Abdullah turned to him and rebuked him harshly, in a way I had never heard him rebuke anyone before, saying, "I tell you something from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and you say, 'By Allah, we will certainly prevent them'?"
عن أبيه، عن النبي ﷺ: إذا استأذنت أحدكم امرأته إلى المسجد فلا يمنعها. وفي رواية قال: فقال بلال بن عبد الله: والله لنمنعهن، فأقبل عليه عبد الله فسبه سبا سيئا، ما سمعته سبه مثله قط، وقال: أخبرك عن رسول الله ﷺ، وتقول: والله لنمنعهن.
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Marriage (5238), and Muslim narrated it in the Book of Prayer (134:442), both of them through the route of Sufyan bin Uyayna, from Zuhri, from Salim bin Abdullah bin Umar, from his father, who related it.The second narration is with Muslim (135:442) through the route of Yunus, from Zuhri, with the same wording.
