I was with Maslama bin Muqlid, and Abdullah bin Amr bin As was with him. Abdullah said, "The Hour will not arrive except upon the worst of creation. They will be worse than the people of the pre-Islamic era. They will not call upon Allah for anything without Him rejecting their supplications."While they were discussing this, Uqba bin Amir came forward.Maslama said to him, "Uqba, listen to what Abdullah is saying."Uqba replied, "He knows best. As for me, I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'A group from my nation will continue to fight for the cause of Allah, overpowering their enemies. Those who oppose them will not harm them, until the Hour comes upon them while they are in this state.'"Abdullah said, "Yes, then Allah will send a wind like the fragrance of musk, with a touch as soft as silk. It will not leave a single soul in whose heart there is even a mustard seed's weight of faith without taking it. Then the worst of people will remain, and it is upon them that the Hour will arrive."
Muslim narrated it in the book of Emirate (1924), from Ahmad bin Abdul-Rahman bin Wahb, who said, my uncle Abdullah bin Wahb narrated to us, Amr bin Harith narrated to us, Yazid bin Abu Habib narrated to me, Abdul-Rahman bin Sahammasa Mahri narrated to me, and he mentioned it.
