The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came out to us while we were speaking of poverty and expressing our fear of it. He said, "Is it poverty that you fear? By the One in whose hand is my soul, the world will be poured out upon you in abundance, so much so that nothing will turn the heart of any one of you astray except its allure. By Allah, I have left you upon a clear path, its night and its day alike."Abu Darda said, "By Allah, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ spoke the truth. By Allah, he left us upon a clear path, its night and its day alike."
خرج علينا رسول الله ﷺ ونحن نذكر الفقر ونتخوفه، فقال: الفقر تخافون؟ والذي نفسي بيده لتصبن عليكم الدنيا صبا حتى لا يزيغ قلب أحدكم إزاغة إلا هيه. وأيم الله، لقد تركتكم على مثل البيضاء، ليلها ونهارها سواء. قال أبو الدرداء: صدق- والله- رسول الله ﷺ، تركنا- والله- على مثل البيضاء، ليلها ونهارها سواء.
Ibn Majah (5) narrated it from Hisham bin Ammar Dimashqi, who said, Muhammad bin Isa bin Qasim bin Sumay narrated to us, who said, Ibrahim bin Sulayman Aftas narrated to us, from Walid bin Abdul-Rahman Jurashi, from Jubayr bin Nufayr, from Abu Darda, and he mentioned it. Its isnad is hasan because of Hisham bin Ammar and Muhammad bin Isa, for the two of them render the hadith hasan.
