In a long hadith describing the pilgrimage of the Prophet ﷺ, it is reported that the Prophet ﷺ said, "I have left among you that which, if you hold fast to it, you will never go astray after me, the Book of Allah. You will be questioned about me, so what will you say?"They replied, "We bear witness that you have conveyed the message, fulfilled your trust, and given sincere counsel." The hadith continues.
في حديث طويل في صفة حجة النبي ﷺ جاء فيه: قال النبي ﷺ: وقد تركت فيكم ما لن تضلوا بعده إن اعتصمتم به: كتاب الله، وأنتم تسألون عني فما أنتم قائلون؟ قالوا: نشهد أنك قد بلغت وأديت ونصحت… الحديث.
Muslim reported it in the book of Hajj (147:1218) through several routes, from Hatim bin Ismail Madani, from Jafar bin Muhammad, from his father, from Jabir bin Abdullah, who mentioned it in a long hadith.
