Abdullah bin Abu Talha and I went to visit Abu Saeed Khudri while he was ill. Abu Saeed told us, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ informed us that angels do not enter a house in which there are statues or images." Ishaq was uncertain which of the two words Abu Saeed had used.
دخلت أنا وعبد الله بن أبي طلحة على أبي سعيد الخدري نعوده، فقال لنا أبو سعيد: أخبرنا رسول الله ﷺ: أن الملائكة لا تدخل بيتا فيه تماثيل أو تصاوير، شك إسحاق، لا يدري أيتهما قال أبو سعيد.
Malik narrated it in "Seeking Permission" (6), from Ishaq bin Abdullah bin Abu Talha, from Rafi bin Ishaq, and he related it. Its isnad is sahih.Tirmidhi (2805) and Ahmad (11858) also narrated it, and Ibn Hibban (5849) graded it sahih, all of them through the route of Malik. Tirmidhi said, "A hasan sahih hadith." Ibn Abdul-Barr said, "This is the most sahih hadith on this subject and the best in terms of isnad." Tamhid (1/300).
