I, along with Ayesha's foster brother, entered upon her, and he asked her about how the Prophet ﷺ performed the major ritual bath. He also said that the wives of the Prophet ﷺ used to trim their hair until it was like a wafrah.
دخلت على عائشة أنا وأخوها من الرضاعة، فسألها عن غسل النبي ﷺ من الجنابة؟ وقال: وكان أزواج النبي ﷺ يأخذن من رؤوسهن حتى تكون كالوفرة.
Muslim reported it in the Book of Menstruation (320), and Bukhari in the Book of Ghusl (251), both from the hadith of Shuba, "Abu Bakr bin Hafs narrated to me, I heard Abu Salama," and he mentioned it. The wording given is that of Muslim, and Bukhari did not mention the cutting of their hair, confining himself to describing how the ghusl from janaba was performed.
