When the verse "they should draw their outer garments over themselves" [Ahzab 33:59] was revealed, the women of the Ansar went out with their cloaks so covering them that it looked as though crows were perched on their heads.
لما نزلت: {يدنين عليهن من جلبيبهن} [سورة الأحزاب: ٥٩] خرج نساء الأنصار كأن على رؤوسهن الغربان من الأكسية.
Abu Dawud (4101) narrated it from Muhammad bin Ubayd, who said, Ibn Thawr told us, from Mamar, from Ibn Khuthaym, from Safiya bint Shayba, from Umm Salama, and he related it.Its chain is hasan on account of Ibn Khuthaym, who is Abdullah bin Uthman bin Khuthaym Qari Makki, for his hadith is hasan.
