A young Ansari woman got married, then fell ill, and her hair fell out. Her family wanted to attach extensions to her hair, so they asked the Prophet ﷺ about it.He said, "Allah has cursed the woman who attaches hair extensions and the woman who has them attached."
أن جارية من الأنصار تزوجت، وأنها مرضت فتمعط شعرها، فأرادوا أن يصلوها، فسألوا النبي ﷺ فقال: لعن الله الواصلة والمستوصلة.
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Clothing (5934), and Muslim in the Book of Clothing and Adornment (2123:117), both of them through the route of Shuba, from Amr bin Mura, who said, I heard Hasan bin Muslim bin Yanaq narrating from Safiya bint Shayba, from Ayesha, and he mentioned it.His saying, "so it fell out" means it came out from its root, and the root of the word "mat" is stretching, as if it were stretched until it was torn off, and it is also used for one whose hair has fallen out.
