Muawiya bin Abu Sufyan came to Madinah on his final visit. He delivered a sermon to us and brought out a clump of hair, saying, "I never thought anyone would do this except the Jews. The Prophet ﷺ called this 'falsehood,'" meaning hair extensions.
قدم معاوية بن أبي سفيان المدينة آخر قدمة قدمها، فخطبنا، فأخرج كبة من شعر، فقال: ما كنت أرى أن أحدا يفعل هذا غير اليهود، وإن النبي ﷺ سماه الزور يعني الوصال في الشعر.
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Prophets (3488), and Muslim in the Book of Clothing (2127:123), both from the hadith of Shuba, from Amr bin Mura, from Saeed bin Musayab, who mentioned it.His saying "kubba" refers to hair gathered and folded over itself.
