The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The evil eye is real," and he forbade tattooing.
قال سول الله ﷺ: العين حق، ونهى عن الوشم.
Bukhari related it in the Book of Dress (5944) from Yahya, who said, Abdul-Razzaq narrated to us, from Mamar, from Hammam, from Abu Hurairah, and he related it. Muslim also related it in the Book of Greetings (2187) through the route of Abdul-Razzaq with the same chain, but his version does not mention the prohibition of tattooing.
