The Messenger of Allah ﷺ cursed men who imitate women and women who imitate men.
لعن رسول الله ﷺ المتشبهين من الرجال بالنساء، والمتشبهات من النساء بالرجال.
Bukhari related it in the Book of Clothing (5885) from Muhammad bin Bashshar, who said, "Ghundar narrated to us, Shuba narrated to us, from Qatada, from Ikrima, from Ibn Abbas," and then he related it.This imitation should be understood as imitation in dress, adornment, and movements. As for other kinds of imitation in social and family life, such as seeking knowledge, spreading it, and taking on administrative positions suited to each of the two sexes, this is not the kind of imitation that is forbidden.
