The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to seek out silk garments and tear them off.
كان رسول الله ﷺ يتبع الحرير من الثياب فينزعه.
Ahmad (8261) narrated it from Abu Abdul-Rahman (Muqri), who said, our teacher Haywa told us, Abu Hani informed me, that Abu Saeed Ghifari informed him that he heard Abu Hurairah say, then he related it.Its chain is hasan because of Abu Saeed Ghifari, who is also said to be Abu Saad Ghifari. Bukhari gave him a biographical entry in his Tarikh, and Ibn Hibban mentioned him in Thiqat. Abu Hani Humayd bin Hani narrated from him, as did Khallad bin Sulayman Hadrami Misri, and he is among the men mentioned in "Tajil" (1282). No criticism of him has been recorded, so his hadith is hasan, since it has a basis, namely the prohibition of silk for men.
