The Prophet of Allah ﷺ took silk and placed it in his right hand, then took gold and placed it in his left hand. He then said, "These two are forbidden for the males of my nation."
إن نبي الله ﷺ أخذ حريرا فجعله في يمينه، وأخذ ذهبا فجعله في شماله، ثم قال: إن هذين حرام على ذكور أمتي.
Abu Dawud narrated it in his Sunan (4057), and Nasai in Al-Mujtaba (5144) and in Sunan al-Kubra (9382), both from Qutayba bin Saeed, who said, "Layth bin Saad narrated to us, from Yazid bin Abu Habib, from Abu Aflah Hamdani, from Abdullah bin Zurayr, that he heard Ali bin Abu Talib say," and then he mentioned it.This is how Qutayba bin Saeed narrated it from Layth bin Saad, but the trustworthy companions of Layth bin Saad differed with him. These are Abdullah bin Mubarak, Isa bin Hammad, Hajjaj bin Muhammad, and Shuayb bin Layth, who inserted "Abdul-Aziz bin Abu Sabah" between Yazid bin Abu Habib and Abu Aflah Hamdani. Their hadith is found in the Sunan works and the Masanid. The hadith of Ibn Mubarak and Isa bin Hammad is in Sunan Nasai Kubra (9383, 9384), the hadith of Hajjaj bin Muhammad is with Ahmad (935), and the hadith of Shuayb bin Layth is with Tahawi in his commentary (4/250). These narrators (Ibn Mubarak, Isa bin Hammad, and Hajjaj bin Muhammad) said, "from Layth bin Saad, from Yazid bin Abu Habib, from Abu Sabah Abdul-Aziz bin Abu Sabah, from a man from Hamdan called Abu Aflah, from Ibn Zurayr, that he heard Ali say," and then he mentioned the hadith. The narration of the group is more likely to be the preserved one. Its chain is hasan because of Abu Aflah, for he is hasan al-hadith.
