Ali bin Abu Talib reported,

Ali reported, "He, meaning the Prophet ﷺ, forbade me from placing my ring on this finger, or the one next to it." Asim was unsure which of the two fingers was meant."He also forbade me from wearing qassiy garments and from sitting on mayathir cushions."The narrator explained, "As for qassiy, these are striped garments brought from Egypt and Syria with such patterns on them. As for mayathir, these were items women used to make for their husbands to place on saddles, resembling purple velvet coverings."
