Bukhari narrated it in "Clothing" (5832), and Muslim in "Clothing and Adornment" (2073), both through Abdul-Aziz bin Suhayb, who said, "I heard Anas bin Malik," and he related it.Similar in meaning is what was narrated from Abu Saeed Khudri, who said that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever wears silk in this world will not wear it in the hereafter."Ahmad narrated it (11179), Ibn Hibban (5437), and Hakim (4/191), all through the hadith of Hisham Dastawai, who said Qatada informed us, from Dawud Sarraj, from Abu Saeed, and he related it. The wording given is Ahmad's, and Ibn Hibban and Hakim added, "And if he enters paradise, the people of paradise will wear it, but he will not wear it."Dawud bin Sarraj Thaqafi, the Egyptian, was not deemed reliable by anyone except Ibn Hibban, and no one narrated from him except Qatada. Ibn Madini said, "He is unknown, I do not know him."Despite this, Hakim said, "This hadith is sahih, and this wording explains the abridged hadiths, namely that whoever wears silk will not enter paradise." So he said, even though this wording contains an irregularity due to its being transmitted by this man alone, for whoever enters paradise will have whatever his soul desires. Allah the Almighty said, "and you will have therein whatever your souls desire" [Fussilat 41:31]
