He heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day must not wear silk or gold."
أنه سمع رسول الله ﷺ يقول: من كان يؤمن بالله واليوم الآخر فلا يلبس حريرا ولا ذهبا.
Ahmad narrated it (22248, 22249) through two paths from Sulayman bin Abdul-Rahman, from Qasim, the freed slave of Abdul-Rahman, from Abu Umama, who related it.Through this same path, Hakim also narrated it (1914) and said, "Its isnad is sahih." Its isnad is hasan because of Qasim, who is Qasim bin Abdul-Rahman Dimashqi, the freed slave of Abdul-Rahman bin Khalid bin Yazid Umawi, the companion of Abu Umama. His hadith is hasan. Ibn Main and Ajli both deemed him trustworthy, and Abu Hatim said, "The hadith transmitted from him by trustworthy narrators is sound, and there is no harm in it."
