The Prophet ﷺ gave the family of Jafar three days before coming to visit them. Then he came to them and said, "Do not weep for my brother after this day."Then he said, "Bring my brother's sons to me."We were brought to him as though we were little chicks. He said, "Call the barber for me," and he ordered him, so he shaved our heads.
Abu Dawud (4192) and Nasai (5227) both narrated it from the hadith of Wahb bin Jareer, who said, my father told us, I heard Muhammad bin Abu Yaqub narrating from Hasan bin Saad, from Abdullah bin Jafar, and he mentioned it. Its isnad is sahih.Ahmad (1750) narrated it through this same route at greater length, and it is mentioned in its proper place.
