I met Muharib bin Dithar on horseback as he was heading to the place where he would render judgments. I asked him about this hadith, and he related it to me, saying, "I heard Abdullah bin Umar say that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Whoever drags his garment out of arrogance, Allah will not look at him on the Day of Resurrection.'"I asked Muharib, "Did he specifically mention the lower garment?"He replied, "He did not single out either the lower garment or the shirt."
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Clothing (5791) from Matar bin Fadl, who said, Shababa narrated to us, Shubah narrated to us, he said, I met Muharib bin Dithar and he related it. This is his wording. Muslim also narrated it in the Book of Clothing (2085) through another route from Shubah, but he did not give the wording.
