Ayesha reported,

Ayesha reported, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was lying down in my house with his thighs, or his shins, uncovered. Abu Bakr asked permission to enter, and he gave him permission while remaining in that state, and they spoke. Then Umar asked permission to enter, and he gave him permission while still in that same state, and they spoke. Then Uthman asked permission to enter, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sat up and adjusted his clothing."Muhammad said, "I do not say this happened on a single day."He then entered and they spoke. When Uthman left, Ayesha said, "Abu Bakr came in and you did not stir for him or pay him much mind. Then Umar came in and you did not stir for him or pay him much mind. But when Uthman came in, you sat up and arranged your clothing."He replied, "Should I not feel shy before a man whom even the angels feel shy before?"

Sahih
