I said, "Messenger of Allah, Fatimah bint Abu Hubaysh has been experiencing prolonged bleeding for such and such a time, so she has not been praying."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ replied, "Glory be to Allah! This is from Satan. Let her sit in a basin, and when she sees a yellowish discharge above the water, let her perform one ghusl for Dhuhr and Asr together, one ghusl for Maghrib and Isha together, and one ghusl for Fajr, and let her perform wudu in between."
قلت: يا رسول الله! إن فاطمة بنت أبي حبيش استحيضت منذ كذا وكذا؛ فلم تصل؟ فقال رسول الله ﷺ: سبحان الله! إن هذا من الشيطان، لتجلس في مركن، فإذا رأت صفرة فوق الماء فلتغتسل للظهر والعصر غسلا واحدا، وتغتسل للمغرب والعشاء غسلا واحدا، وتغتسل للفجر غسلا واحدا، وتتوضأ فيما بين ذلك.
Abu Dawud (296) narrated it, saying, Wahb bin Baqiya told us, Khalid (bin Abdullah) told us, from Suhayl - meaning Ibn Abu Salih - from Zuhri, from Urwa bin Zubayr, from Asma bint Umays, and he related it. Its isnad is hasan because of Suhayl bin Abu Salih, for he is truthful, as mentioned before.Abu Dawud said, Mujahid narrated it from Ibn Abbas, "When ghusl became too difficult for her, he instructed her to combine the two prayers." Abu Dawud said, and Ibrahim narrated it from Ibn Abbas, and this is the view of Ibrahim Nakhai and Abdullah bin Shaddad. End of quote.
