The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Wear white clothing, for it is among the best of your garments, and shroud your dead in it. The best of your kohls is ithmid, for it sharpens the sight and makes the lashes grow."
قال رسول الله ﷺ: البسوا من ثيابكم البيض، فإنها من خير ثيابكم، وكفنوا فيها موتاكم، وإن خير أكحالكم الإثمد: يجلو البصر وينبت الشعر.
Narrated by Abu Dawud (3878, 4061), Tirmidhi (994), Ibn Majah (1472), Nasai (5113), and Ahmad (2219), and Ibn Hibban (5423) and Hakim (1/354) graded it sahih. All of them narrated it through various routes from Abdullah bin Uthman bin Khuthaym, from Saeed bin Jubayr, from Ibn Abbas, who related it. The wording given is that of Abu Dawud and others, while some abridged it. Its chain is hasan because of Abdullah bin Uthman bin Khuthaym, for his narrations are hasan. Tirmidhi said, "Hasan sahih, and it is what the people of knowledge recommend."
