The Messenger of Allah ﷺ passed by us while we were repairing a hut of ours.He asked, "What is this?"We answered, "It is a hut of ours that has become weak, so we are fixing it."He said, "The matter is more pressing than that."
مر بنا رسول الله ﷺ ونحن نصلح خصا لنا، فقال: ما هذا؟ قلنا: خصا لنا وهى، فنحن نصلحه، قال: فقال: أما إن الأمر أعجل من ذلك.
Narrated by Abu Dawud (5236), Tirmidhi (2335), Ibn Majah (4160), and Ahmad (6502), and Ibn Hibban (2997) graded it sahih, all of them through the route of Abu Muawiya, who said, Amash narrated to us, from Abu Safar (whose name was Saeed bin Yahmad), from Abdullah bin Amr bin As, who mentioned it. Its chain of transmission is sahih. Tirmidhi said, "This is a hasan sahih hadith."His saying "the khass" refers to a house made of tree branches or reeds. His saying "wahaa" means the wall weakened, as in "yahi" when something becomes weak and is about to collapse. His saying "the matter" refers to the matter of departing from this world and death.
