I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "There are three matters about which I swear an oath, and I will tell you something so memorize it well.""As for the three I swear about, no servant's wealth is ever decreased by giving charity, no servant endures a wrong done to him with patience except that Allah increases him in honor through it, and no servant opens for himself the door of begging except that Allah opens for him the door of poverty.""As for what I will tell you, memorize it. The world belongs to four kinds of people. A servant whom Allah
has provided with wealth and knowledge, so he fears his Lord regarding it, maintains ties of kinship through it, and acknowledges Allah's
right in it. This one occupies the most excellent station.""And a servant whom Allah
has provided with knowledge but not with wealth, so he says sincerely, 'If I had wealth, I would do as so-and-so does.' Their reward is equal.""And a servant whom Allah has provided with wealth but not with knowledge, so he stumbles about in his wealth without knowledge, neither fearing his Lord
regarding it, nor maintaining ties of kinship through it, nor acknowledging Allah's right in it. This one occupies the foulest station.""And a servant whom Allah has provided with neither wealth nor knowledge, who says, 'If I had wealth, I would do as so-and-so does.' That is his intention, and so their burden of sin is equal."
Tirmidhi (2325) and Ahmad (18031) narrated it, the wording being Ahmad's, both of them through the route of Ubadah bin Muslim, who said, "Yunus bin Khabab narrated to me, from Saeed Abu Bakhtari Tai, from Abu Kabsha Anmari," and he related it.Tirmidhi said, "This is a hasan sahih hadith." And it is as he said, for its chain is hasan because of Yunus bin Khabab, and his Shia leanings do not harm it, since there is nothing in it that supports his doctrine.
