The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever makes the Hereafter his main concern, Allah will place contentment in his heart, gather his affairs together for him, and worldly gain will come to him in spite of itself. But whoever makes this world his main concern, Allah will set poverty before his eyes, scatter his affairs, and nothing of this world will reach him except what has been decreed for him."
Tirmidhi narrated it (2465) from Hannad, who said, Waki narrated to us from Rabi bin Sabih, from Yazid bin Aban, who is Raqashi, from Anas bin Malik, who said, then he mentioned it.Yazid bin Aban Raqashi, the storyteller, Abu Hatim said about him, "He was a preacher who wept often and narrated a great deal." Abu Dawud said, "He was a righteous man." Ibn Adi said, "He has sound hadiths."I say, the heedlessness that often overtakes righteous men overtook him, and that is why he was graded daif in hadith. But this hadith has been narrated through another route.Ibn Adi narrated it in al-Kamil (1/282) from Fadl bin Abdullah bin Makhlad, who said, Sufyan bin Waki narrated to us, who said, Muharibi narrated to us, from Ismail bin Muslim, from Hasan and Qatada, from Anas, from the Prophet ﷺ, then he mentioned it.Ismail bin Muslim is the one from Makkah. Sufyan said, "He used to make mistakes in hadith, he would narrate and get things wrong."The conclusion regarding him, as Ibn Adi said, is that "his hadiths are not preserved as coming from the people of Hijaz, Basra, and Kufa, yet he is among those whose hadith is written down."With these two chains, the hadith rises to the level of hasan.
